In the season of Christmas I began to consider the birthing of enlightenment (to become filled with light) that was represented in the arrival of Jesus on earth. Jesus eventually walked the earth as a mature, transformed, and enlightened man; one who finally understood that He was both of God and of flesh. Once He realized this, strange, miraculous things started happening, both to him, through him and in humanity. This triumphant message of Jesus; “look! I bring light to the darkness within you” attracted people to Him. And in this way he became the mentor to many. His teaching nearly always took on a message combined with challenge; shift your thinking. I’m curious if this was his work as he walked in the wilderness seeking the truth of Himself? As illustrated through Jesus, a mentor is not necessarily your friend, your buddy, your always soft place to land who accepts everything you say and do with a gentle pat on the back. A true mentor challenges you in love. They hold your feet to the flame, both to warm you and to ignite you. A true mentor will push your buttons, find the places you try to keep hidden and deny. A true mentor takes the biggest light and shines it right on your negative ego, exposing it for all it is; fear, self-will, self-pride, blame and child demand. Fr. Richard Rohr writes, “This is the kind of wise mentor that we all want and that our civilization needs. It’s the kind of mentor that leads you in the real work— leads you to work on the inside not just the outside—to work on yourself and not on others. A mentor, maybe without realizing it, leads you to your real soul work—which is never just answer giving and problem solving. A true mentor actually creates deeper problems for you, and reveals your real problems at the level of your soul. “ At Rukha Academy, the faculty is prepared to be real mentors to each student. After all, this is really what we all want; true, authentic and lasting healing. The superficial healings have all been temporary and never really addressed the deep pain. The faculty asks, “What is your real motivation here? What is your real need and intention? ” Once we discover this, we are able to more fully walk the earth as Jesus did, trusting in Divine order, accessing our great spiritual gift, and being a mentor for others through our own healing process. The greatest gift that Jesus brought to earth came ultimately through his greatest pain. Likewise, as bioenergy healers, we also access our greatness that we are intended to share with humanity by understanding and healing our greatest wound. Find a mentor that will be able to expertly support that critical process as you discover the truth of who you are.
The time has arrived, we are ready.
